Michael Lesner is Producer for American Health Journal, an award-winning 30-minute health care television series which has aired continuously for over 25 years, featured on PBS, CBS, NBC, ABC and affiliates. He also co-produces the TV series Innovations in Medicine.

After studying Psychology at the University of Illinois, Lesner was hired by the Leo Burnett Agency, Chicago. Here he was placed into the coveted Copy Trainee Program where he was taught by Mr. Burnett, himself, in the concept of “inherent drama.” In his next position at Young & Rubicam he was challenged with his first unsupervised television assignment, a campaign for client Allied Van Lines. His award-winning effort, “We Move Families, Not Furniture” was widely recognised and universally applauded.

Lesner was called back to mainstream consumer advertising by McCann-Erickson and focused during the late 80’s on Levi Strauss and Wells Fargo Bank assignments, with his “If you could...” campaign named the “Best Campaign of the Year”.

In 1987, Lesner developed a second vertically integrated marketing career in the medical field, working first as Executive Vice President and Creative Director for Kallir Phillips & Ross. Following that, in conjunction with former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop, Lesner served as Managing Editor for a national home health advisory magazine. Sometime later, he helped a "touch screen" technology firm create a software offering, "VisMed™”, which is used today in hospitals across the country to enhance the relationship among physicians, hospitals and patients. Lesner is also co-authoring a 200-page protocol, "A Guide to Improving the Quality of Life for Kidney Dialysis Patients," co-developed by Amgen and the U.S. Healthcare Finance Administration.

More recently, Lesner has guided the global introduction and expansion for the world's first FDA/CE cleared, wireless, Bluetooth-enabled blood glucose monitor and diabetes management platform.
